i saw a short film once called "mole hills" by dan arnold. it's about 6:10 minutes long and it's an extra on the sunshine dvd. it made me feel and it tested my expectations as a person. because of it, i've learned that sometimes it's better not to question what is seen or how it's shown, but rather what feeling it stirs. and at this moment, nothing can go wrong; nothing can ruin this and it is wonderful in my mind. je ne suis pas un maitre a parler francais, mais je vous souhaite jetais.

Transgression, underworld crime on the East Coast, high-end thugs, moral ambiguity, big stick ideology, Powerman 5000's "Bombshell", applied specialties, the 3 C's: class-charm-charisma, confederate organizations, the Second Amendment, cigarette smoke rings, suits and ties and watches, clean getaways, thick as thieves, and a bunch of smug young Gentlemen...

It seems to me that any sensible person must see that violence does not change the world and if it does, then only temporarily. And as I've gotten older, I've had more of a tendency to look for people who live by kindness, tolerance, compassion, a gentler way of looking at things. Now more than ever we need to talk to each other, to listen to each other and understand how we see the world, and cinema is the best medium for doing this.

it's taboo for a magician to reveal how a trick is done. all too often, fine art operates the same way, with painters taking secrets to the grave. put simply, the truth behind every magic trick is this: a successful magician practices. if you think the trick took five hours to learn, it took fifty. or five hundred.
